Life Without A Leash! is a professional dog training business
founded by Jill Henry & based out of Abbotsford, BC
Growing up in the small farming community of Carbon, Alberta, Jill has always had a great love for animals & the outdoors. It was at this early age that she dreamed of becoming a dog trainer. After completing high school in Abbotsford, BC, she began a career in the stock market. Always feeling something was missing, she decided to take a year off to reflect on life.
It was at this time in 2003, that she decided to attend Canada West Canine Centre in Salmon Arm, BC, the first school of dog trainers to be registered with the Private Post Secondary Education Commission of British Columbia. This was the beginning of an exciting career change!
After graduating from CWCC, Jill managed the largest & most reputable boarding kennel in the North Okanagan, HY Country Kennels. Also at this time, she held regular obedience classes & private lessons through her company at the time, Can-Can Train ’M.
Since then, Jill has also completed a Remote Collar Specialist course through That’s My Dog! in Wisconsin.
Every year, Jill attends K9 training courses throughout North America to ensure she is current with the most
up-to-date training techniques.
Jill currently resides in Abbotsford with her husband Cole, their 2 dogs Fendi & Diego, & kitty Sophie.
